Artist Statement
I believe in the calling of modern art to enrich our lives and environments with beauty, meaning and eternal values.
IsnĀ“t it a great paradigm - that we should find ourselves at turningpoints ever so often in our lives? The paradigm of the prodigal - with special temptations, threats and injuries, but also with hope and recurring chances to give our way a new and better direction.
In these paintings I want to express in terms of today pain and frustration as well as longing for identity and hope. The starting point is mostly a man or a woman in motion or in meditation. With wounds and scars indicating a personal history of suffering and hopefully healing - enhancing bodies, modulations of light, colours and landscapes.
